Special someone

Special someone

After a long argument where he insisted, I meant nothing to him, I caught my reflection in the mirror and saw the earlier version of myself staring back. I couldn’t help but wonder why she still clung to the belief that she was special to him, especially when his actions screamed otherwise.

So why hold onto that fragile hope?

With a soft voice, she answered me. Once, in the beginning, when he truly cared, he whispered, "You are special to me." Those words resonated like music in my heart—the rhythm of his voice, that divine tone—made me feel truly cherished.

Even though everything has changed since those days, the melody of his words continues to bring me joy. It’s like listening to an old song; even when you know the lyrics aren’t true anymore, they can transport you back to a different time, wrapped in nostalgia.

This feeling about another person is rare; people grow and evolve, often drifting apart, yet some connections leave a lasting imprint. If you’re lucky enough to experience it, treasure it. That's all we hold onto when it comes to someone special.
